Campbell Appoints Arthur B. Anderson as Senior Vice President-Global Research & Development and Quality

CAMDEN, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–June 2, 2005–Campbell Soup Company
(NYSE:CPB) today announced that Arthur B. Anderson is being appointed
Senior Vice President-Global Research & Development and Quality,
effective June 8, 2005. Anderson will report to Carl Johnson, Senior
Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer.

Anderson brings to Campbell more than 30 years of experience in
R&D and operations at leading consumer products companies, including
PepsiCo, Kraft Foods, and Procter & Gamble. He has extensive
experience in product and process development, as well as R&D and
Supply Chain strategy.

In his most recent corporate role, Anderson was Senior Vice
President of Advanced Technology for PepsiCo, covering both the snacks
and beverage businesses. Prior to PepsiCo, Anderson spent nearly a
decade at Kraft Foods in leadership roles, culminating as Vice
President-Operations and Research & Development Strategy, which was a
newly created position that linked Kraft’s R&D to its Supply Chain.
Anderson began his career at Procter & Gamble, where he spent 20 years
in R&D roles including Director-Research and Development for the
feminine care, facial tissues, and personal care new products groups.

Commenting on Anderson’s appointment, Johnson said, “As we move

on the excellent work that has been done in R&D and to lead his team

innovation initiatives.”

Anderson earned his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical
engineering from the University of Florida-Gainesville. He is a member
of the Institute of Food Technologists and the Executive Leadership
Conference.
