Our strategy

Commitments and Progress

We’re proud of the progress we’ve made and will continue to be transparent about where we’re doing well and where we have the opportunity to improve.

Corporate Responsibility goals

We report on our external commitments annually, which have been approved by our leadership team with oversight from the Governance Committee of our Board of Directors.

Our performance

We track year-over-year data demonstrating our corporate responsibility performance and progress toward achieving our goals.

In fiscal 2024, progress against our corporate responsibility goals was incorporated into our incentive compensation program, a step that reflects our focus on making meaningful improvements.

Materiality* at Campbell’s

We hold ourselves to high standards when considering how we create value and the impact we have on stakeholders. We identify the environmental, social, and governance topics that most affect our business and society through a materiality assessment. The assessment informs the direction of our corporate responsibility strategy, ensuring that our programs help us meet both strategic business objectives and other priorities. We conducted our most recent assessment in 2023.

*Please see our cautionary note on the term materiality.

Governance Structure

Oversight of ESG is conducted by the Governance Committee of the Board of Directors and is reflected in the Committee’s Charter. The Committee takes an active role in the evolution of Campbell’s ESG strategy and public reporting. To ensure that ESG is appropriately managed throughout the organization, we have designed the following governance structure:

  • Board of Directors: Oversight of ESG activities is managed by the Governance Committee of the Board.
  • Chief Executive Officer: Provides executive direction on ESG strategy.
  • Operating Committee: With primary focus on our Executive Vice President Chief Enterprise Transformation Officer who manages business continuity and supply chain resilience, Head of Supply Chain who oversees emissions reductions efforts in our manufacturing operations and supply chain, and SVPs of R&D who oversee sustainable product innovation opportunities and packaging sustainability initiatives.
  • Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability Team: Lead by our Chief Sustainability Officer who supports Campbell’s ESG strategy and is directly accountable for Campbell’s environmental strategy.
  • Sustainability Steering Committee: Senior leaders from operating divisions, supply chain, corporate responsibility and sustainability, manufacturing, research & development, investor relations, and communications who meet regularly to inform the scope and specific elements of the company’s ESG strategy.
